Work with me
How I work
Every therapist works differently, depending on their training and experience. The way I work can be described as client-centered and I focus on what you feel is important to you. However, it is collaborative process and it is not uncommon to want help yet also feel unsure on where to start.
Part of my role as a therapist is to help you identify what is the most urgent to focus on. I draw on different approaches, techniques and modalities based on your goals. I am flexible and I will adapt if something else comes up, if you want to work on more than one issue, or you want to change your focus. This is a natural part of the process, often it is not linear and requires flexibility.
Therapy is an investment in yourself for change and it is important we are both clear on the focus and goal of the work. I will regularly review how the work is progressing to determine if it requires any fine-tuning to my approach. The most important part of the process is the relationship between client and therapist and I always welcome feedback to encourage you to get the most from the process.

Initial Consultation
To get the best out of the therapy sessions I start with an initial consultation. This is an opportunity for you to explore a number of questions and for us both to decide whether we will work together and provide an opportunity for you to put into words what has caused you to seek therapy.
I offer face-to-face and online sessions. I am trained to work online via video conferencing and provide sessions via Zoom and Skype. I have experience working in an online therapeutic setting since 2010. Online counselling can provide help and support to people who do not have professional services available locally, for people who would never seek professional help in person, or who may find it impossible to attend professional services because of work or other commitments.
Appointments
Each therapy session runs for 50 minutes at the same weekly time on an open-ended basis. The length of the therapy is discussed together as we proceed. Addition time can be managed upon request and concessions are negotiable.
All communication is confidential and no information you have given is released without permission unless we are required by law to do so. Circumstances where this can happen in the UK is if I believe you may do harm to yourself or do harm to others. In the rare event that I break confidentiality, this is done with your prior knowledge if possible and only to people who absolutely need to know (e.g.,doctors).
All my work is supervised by a clinical supervisor in line with the BACP ethical guidelines, which ensures that I am providing you with the best help possible. But I do not disclose your identity.
Fees
Introductory session – 50 minutes – £30.00
Face to Face and Online Sessions – 50 minutes – £60.00
Before deciding to work together, we will have an introductory session where we can discuss what you want to get out of the therapy and you can gain some insight into what it would be like to work with me.
Concessions – I believe that anyone who is struggling with mental health issues should be able to access therapy, therefore I offer a limited number of sessions at a reduced priced for people who genuinely cannot afford the full fee. Please do not hesitate to contact me if you are struggling and can’t afford the full fee.
Cancellation policy – If you are unable to attend a session, I do require a minimum of 48 hours notice. I reserve the right to charge for any late cancellation and no shows.
